Sunday is becoming special to those who like John Adams followed by The Tudors. The first is from HBO while the latter is shown in Showtime. I really like the 2 series especialy now that both are in the interesting stage. The Tudors on its second year is really hot. Last Sunday , King Henry squired a hot one because Ann Boleyn is pregnant. No sex. Even Kings are not exempted from this dilemna.
John Adams is kind of sad now that the former President of a young United States Of America loss a son . A wayward son according to his father. Both shows are really first class.I hope they do more shows like these.

New episodes of my favorite TV shows are set to roll again with the end of the writers strike. It's really timely especially that Prison Break aired it's last episode last week.I look forward to watching Desperate Housewives , Gray's Anatomy and many more of my favorite TV shows.
I want to see the new shows too if these are worth viewing. Shows like Moonlight and Big Bang Theory look interesting . I wonder how many of these new TV shows will click with the viewers. I bet more than half of these shows will be cancelled. One new TV show ( revived ) I looked forward to watching is Knight Rider . How will the producers of the show upgrade KITT ? The car gadgets in the old KITT are now ordinary features of most automobiles now.

Writers' Strike

I hope the writers strike will be resolve soon.I am eager to watch new editions of the Tonight Show by Jay Leno. Just give the writers what is due them.Why don't the stars give a percentage of their enormous earnings and not rely on the producers to cough up all the dough ? After all , the actors/actresses are the ones with least to lose in case the film bombed. Calling Mel Gibson , Tom Cruise and all $ 10-$20 million per picture guys !

Search For Another Big TV !

I visited a Best Buy store one night just to look at the different big screen TVs on display.I found several no name brands.By no name,I mean not a Sony, or a Toshiba and even a Samsung.They are quite cheap.A 40'' something TV selling for a mere $700.It's a good deal and real cheap.It is because the TV is an open item ! It's just right for our bedroom.The problem is do I want to spend that much or add a little sum buy a 50'' plasma or LCD TV as a replacement for my 60'' projection TV now in the basement's family room?I need to think very hard.If I will put the new big screen TV in the basement,I plan to transfer the projection TV in the bedroom.I still love my big screen TV .

It is a bad time to watch TV now especially late night TV. The Screenwriters Guild strike which started this week will ' cripple ' the TV and movie industry.The 1st to be affected will be the Tonight Show of Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien's as well.These 2 shows are among my favorites.For sure , Jay can write his monologue materials but I guess he sympathizes with the writers so he won't do that.Jay brought some donuts for them yesteday.My feeling is that the studio , TV and movie producers should spread the wealth. Give the writers their due.In the meantime,it's the 3R's for all the viewers !

The movie Elizabeth starring Cate Blanchett is fantastic. It is well acted and fascinating.I watched also the Helen Mirren movie (Elizabeth I and II) version of the same..It was done very well too with All Star cast.I can't get tired watching the 2 versions.It's the same but somehow different in their interpretation of events.I heard Cate did part II of the movie which was shown in Toronto Film festival.I can't wait to see that in HBO or Showtime.

Joey Fatone In Singing Bee

I watched Joey F. as the host of the new hit show The Singing Bee. How can Joey be so lucky. After N Sync,there was a stint with Dancing With The Stars and then this .No wonder,Joey's home was featured in MTV's Crib.His abode is fabulous worth millions of dollars.

I know that the concept of Joey's NBC show has a copycat already.Or is it the other way around?Maybe the Singing Bee just beat the rival show from the other network to the punch.

It's Doolittle's time to go. Although Melinda is the most polished singer of the 3 remaining Idol finalists, she has no star power. Melinda Doolittle's star is just too bland compared to those of Blake and Jordin. The latter 2 are young , hip and oozing with star appeal. They also sing very well. No amount of Simon's pushing can make the American youth favor Doolittle.I guess MD is back to being a back up singer. A lead back up singer. I don't think her recordings will sell well.

American Idol Series . Aloha Lakisha

There are down to 3 with the departure of Lakisha , the mother Idol. Lakisha somehow expected the inevitable as she performed weakly the 2 Beegees songs. Even Simon picked her to say goodbye last night.It was weird hearing Lakisha's rendition of Staying Alive especially the part when she crooned ' huh,huh,huh,huh stayin' aliveeeeeeeeeeeiveive'. I wished she stayed dead. The highlight of the night was Barry Gibb singing To Love Somebody . It was really awesome hearing the orig although Michael Bolton's version is equally good.
Next week's American Idol will be a real fight. Blake may surprise the 2 female favorites , Jordin and Doolittle.My hunch is that Blake's young female fans will vote in millions to keep him in the finals especially if he performed very well.So better watch out !

American Idol Series Two To Go !

It's dumping time again but this time , it's 2 that were asked to evaporate by the American people. First was military man Phil Stacey a surprise Idol wanna be who lasted longer than he should. Phil improved a lot in the last 2 weeks of competition . His country singing style came out at the time he was about to meet the chopping ax.Good for him. Ryan said Phil is a good man .That's why maybe the remaining Idol finalists shed a lot of tears for Phil.
After a while, it's Chris Richardson's time to go.He and Blake Edwards are best friends but it's ironic that the 2 were pitted against each other last night.When Ryan announced that it was Chris that the American public voted out of AI , the 2 warmly said goodbye to each other with no hard feelings.We'll see each other at the tour was all that needs to be said.It now left for Blake to carry the male flag.

This week's execution did not happen.Nobody was asked to go as the Producers of the show deemed it not right to let go of anyone of the 6 remaining Idols being Idol Gives Back day.Instead the votes this week and next week will be added and AI will let go of 2 Idol finalists next week. Jordin has the scare of her young life as she thought she'll get the boot last night. She was the last (wo)man standing.Ryan made her cry with that brutal scheme.This will surely make her fans vote in millions .Mark my word . Jordin will be the next American Idol.Everything that the people behind AI do has a purpose.They reckoned , Jordin is more acceptable as an Idol than Doolittle.When Simon said that Jordin's version of the song she sang this week would make a good record . That's means something.

Now Simon can breath a sigh of relief. Sanjaya is gone.After weeks of subjecting many viewers to agonishing musical experience, Sanjaya was booted out of Indian Idol. Ooooops , American Idol.Why did Sanjayay's supporters abandoned him? I can think of 2 reasons .First, Sanjayay's performance last night was unsalvageable. Horrendous according to Simon.The other reason was because of the Virginia Tech massacre.Many young people were glued to their TV sets watching this terrifying massacre and they just don't have time for any youthful stuff as inundating AI with votess for Sanjaya.One can say that Sanjaya Malakar was the 34th victim of crazy man , Cho Seung Hui. Now Sanjaya can concentrate on numerous offers for him to do all kinds of things.In Focus magazine reported that Sanjaya's potential income can go as high as $ 15 million. The Agency who made AI reject, William Hung famous, is after Sanjaya according to the same publication.

I've been watching this show for the last 3 weeks and I'm hooked . The Tudors is really The Soprano years back as someone described the series.Lots of intrigues , sex and Tony Soprano like behavior from the King Of England.This week, King Henry was shown plotting against the French with the assistance from Spain.I got to look it up in my history book if the Spanish King really had a big,pointed chinMaybe just google him.I can't wait for the next episode.Maybe the King will finally bag Ann Boylene.She looks delicious despite her weird nostrils that so in your face.The good thing about this series is that Showtime will have a marathon showing of the past 3 episodes this Saturday.

American Idol Series . Haley's Gone !

It's Haley Scarnato's turn to say goodbye to American Idol.I though it's is Phil who will go this time because they were at bottom 2.Haley with fantastic legs instead was out.The Latin Night was fun for the Idol finalists especially it's Jennifer Lopez who mentored them.She did a much better job than Gwen.Her performance tonight was lame .It would have been better if her husband ,Mark Anthony , sang with her.This week was different with Simon not ridiculing Sanjaya.His rendition of Besame Mucho was passable.

I thought Stacey was toast last night.He survived as the American public voted off Gina Glocksen instead. In an emotional farewell,Gina can only say that she was looking forward to the AI Tour after the competition is over. One can tell that she really wanted to stay in the show if not win it all.I don't know if a rocker will be the American Idol one day.Last year,Chris Daughtry almost won (he placed number 3).Chris is a rocker but not the hard rocker type. Gina's rendition of 'Smile' was OK but her singing came after 2 better idol wanna bes made her performance paled in comparison.That's what Simon said.By the way,Sanjaya was not even in the bottom 3 last night.

American Idol Series : It's Chubby's Time.

As expected,Crish Sligh otherwise known as Chubby got axed last night in American Idol.His rendition of Every Little She Does Is Magic of the Police was unanimously panned out by all 3 judges ,4 including my wife.Their common critism was that Sligh's timing was way off.Gwen Stefani said that too..She was not a lot of help to the Idol finalists as she basically just listened to them and did'nt do much coaching..Was Gwen intimated by the Idol finalists ? When Sligh auditioned for the show,he was funny with his off the cuff jokes aside from being a good singer.He dropped the jokes because he was afraid not to be taken seriously.Too bad,he was hilarious.This is a singing competition so that is understandle.Of course,Sanjaya survived another day.I wonder if Howard Stern's order to his thousand of listeners to vote for Sanjaya has anything to do with it?

American Idol Series .Stephanie Is Out.

Uneexpectedly,Stephanie Edwards was voted off American Idol. It was choice between her and Chris Richardson who sang 'Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying' beautifully . Stephanie sang better than the others with her style my wife said is like Beyonce although she looks like a younger and prettier version of Fantasia . The idol finalsts sang some British hits of the 60's.It was very good musicwise.The boys did well tonight even favorite whipping boy , Sanjaya.This must be because they got very wide songs to choose from from such groups as the Herman's Hermits,Rolling Stones,Shirley Bassey,Lulu.The latter was the show's guest aside from x of Herman's Hermits.I love this period's music than Diana Ross' that was the theme last week.sang an old favorite of mine, There's A Kind Of Hush .He is still bloody good while Lulu's To Sir With Love brought back some distant memories.

This afternoon , I watched 2 documentaries in the Sundance channel . First , about the country of Bolivia's presidential election . It was interesting . I learned a lot about this South American country's politics. . A US consultancy firm led by James Carville , a Democratic strategist , was among those who went to advised the president on his political run . The president won but was forced out of office .
After this , there was the story of Salvador Allende rise and fall. I kinda' sympathized with Allende . Kinda' because I'm not too sold out with his Fidel Castro's type of politics . Allende was different to Castro because he did Chile's road to socialism differently . Turns out that Castro's way is the right one as Allende was ousted and killed in a coup d'etat . Both films were in nglish subtitles .

The Return Of American Idol

I like watching AI since an officemate of mine told me about the show years ago . I missed season 1 but after that , I've watched them all . Season 3 was the most fantastic for me . That's when I've got several fav singers but unfortunately not one of those made it to the finals . The idol that year was Fantasia .Funny how the fates of Fantasia and Oscar winner , Jennifer Hudson crossed path again . Fantasia tried out for the Dreamgirl role . Eventually , that role was snagged by AI reject- Miss Hudson ( I think she placed 5th that season) . The rest is history . Goes to show you as well that acting is not hard at all . How can one 1st timer to the acting world beat the veterans ?

People are getting ready for the big game this Sunday . My wife's officemate said they are readying the booze and may not be able to go to work this Monday because of hangover . I heard the sale of HDTV is brisk . The price has gone down for plasma TV and it definitely helped to push the product. Me . I am more interested in watching the commercials . I read one of the most awaited one if K Fed's fast food commercial. It's the subject of controversy as many fast food workers are said to be offended by the commercial .

Grease, You're The One That I Want.

I enjoyed watching this show . It's like American Idol minus the bitchiness .I noted 'though that the contestants are below AI's standards. I guess that's alright because the winners are supposed to act as John Travolta's and Olivia Newton John's roles in the stage version of Grease .
The format is like AI as I've said from the way they are asked to perform to the way they are judged . Last Sunday , Olivia was there to judge the contestant . Why not ? She's excellent as Sandy . Grease is one of my favorite movie up to now .

The TV was filled with politics this week . There was Barack Obama's announcement , followed by Hillary Clinton's .This Sunday , another Democrat , Gov. Richardson joined the prey . The more , the merrier . That's only one side . Sen. Edwards , announced his presidential aspiration earlier.

On the Republican side , McCain and Guilliani were the frontrunner . This A.M. , another lesses known candidate - Reynolds - announced he is seeking the GOP nomination. This is one hell of an election .
My TV would surely be very busy starting this month .

Yakuza

I watched a good series on the Japanese Yakuza . It was a 5 part series and an original Japanese TV series so it has English translation sub title . The series tackled the start of the Japanese gang after post war . Unfortunately , I missed some parts so I had a hard time following the story at the beginning . Add to this , there are numerous characters which made it hard to follow. However in the end , I managed to piece things together and I enjoyed the whole experience . It's just like the story of Mafia's start in America. I find similarities in the Japanese crime syndicate turning ' legitimate ' in the latter days . So out with the decapitated fingers and many body tatoos .The crime heads agreed to form a single group like Lucky Luciano did with the different groups . In Japan today , Yakuzas are part and parcel of corporations so I was told by someone .

Surprise to find out that the 50 in LG plasma TV is selling now for a mere $ 1,900 only ! Wow,That's a real bargain . It's about a thousand bucks lower than previous price .I wonder if I should buy now or wait some more for the price to go down further . LG is a Korean company . It manufactures a lot of electronic products but the brand is not at the level of the Toshibas and Panasonics . Definite not that of Sony . I don't know if it is a good buy at that price ?

42 in Or 50 in Plasma TV ?

My wife's friend just bought a 42 in plasma TV . Another one I know bought a 50 in one . I don't know if the difference in price is big enought that I would buy a smaller plasma TV . I know that 50 in is the smallest I would get for my viewing pleasure. It costs just a thousand less to have a bigger TV so why not go for it unless you have a small place then I can understand . Maybe if it is only my back up TV that's OK . Anyway , the holidays will definitely mean more sales . Make the 50 in plasma TV cheaper please !

IFC Channel

I like watching ' indie ' and international movies . French and Japanese films particularly . These are normally shown in the IFC channels . All of the films are captioned in English and mostly dated . It's actually fun watching black and white movies .
Last weekend , I caught 2 foreign films but not French or Japanese . These are Polish and Czech movies which turned out to be exciting if not interesting .I think I will try to catch some more of these type of films .The more veriety , the better !

I saw an interesting news today . It's about the 100 in Plasma TV . Wow . It's so big , you're just like watching in a mini theatre really . The manufacturer said they have a waiting line for the product as long as 3 months . The buyers are mostly showbiz people and folks from the Middle East . The huge TV is not bulky at all . It's only 8'' thick. Price : $ 80,000 . The Manufacturer reckoned the price will go down to between $ 20 - 25 k in the future !

History Channel

The past few days , I've been watching the History Channels - International and Local . It's addicting . I watched the shows there from early afternoon up to past midnight . Last Saturday , History Channel featured a marathon special on the Kennedy's . I've seen lots of Kennedy docus but somehow , there is something new .
The past few days this week , I watched Modern Marvels from the construction of Suez Canal to making pretzels, chocolates and harvesting cranberries ! What a blast ! I can't wait to see what's showing tonight !

New Shows

I tries watching some new shos this week . This is my opinion of them :

1. Nine - Not enough action . Becomes very boring after few commercials . I just switch to other show . Grade - D

2. Heroes - Some interesting portions . Can be promising I though if one has the patience . There are different stars/story lines so the show can be interesting one second and not the next . Grade -C+

3. Kidnapped - It' the 3rd week that I've seen the show . Every episode has been good so far . Having Timothy Hutton definitely did not hurt . At least there is a movie star in this new TV series. I noticed that the first 2 shows featurer some recycled TV stars. Grade - A-

4. Smith - Again this show is its 3rd week . So far so good . Every week is a new caper for the gang which is led magnificently by Ray Liotta . Also Virginia Madsen as his wife is there too.
The show is Ocean Eleven in week i , 12 in week 2 and so on. Grade - A+

Finally , My Sattelite Is Up

Yessirieeee. After a long wait , the dish is installed . I will be able to watch my fav shows in HBO , Espn , Fox etc. It's just in time for the start of the NBA in a few week's time . I tested it last night but I still have to master the remote . So for now , I just channel surf . It's great .I hope the Sopranos will start soon .
The baseball playoffs are starting but I don't watch it until the World Series starts . I'm sure the Yankees will be there . Although the Mets are an interesting bunch this year . Maybe a subway series is in the offing . Lost premiere is today but I don't follow it . I am too far behind to start now .

The winner of the Celebrity Duets is not other than the guy from Fresh Prince From Bel Air . Not Will Smith of course but his TV cousin . He beat sexy Lucy in a tightly and exciting contest . The winner gets 1000,00 dollars donations to a charity of his choice . Cool . What about a recording contract , huh Simon ?
Actually , Alfonso was the most consistent of all the participants . Lucy was great in the latter stages of the show but Alfonso was equally great too especially his duet with Gladys Knight. I wonder if there would be a 2ng edition of this entertaining show . I bet lots of stars will want to let themselves in. Advice to the producers of the show : Do not get has beens or no name stars .

This week's episode of the Celebrity Duets was one of the best I think . On Thursday , Lucy ' Xena The Warrior Princess ' was awesome as she sang with Richard Merxk . It was awesome . As the judges said ,' the song was just right for her '. The next day , which is ' judgement day ' , Jai Rodrigues teaming up with Patti LaBelle sang ' Somewhere Over The Rainbow ' and it was fantastic . The audience loved it . Two contestants were eliminated , Cheech and Jai . Cheech was expected , but Jai was a surprise . The people thought so . He was an early favorite. It should had been Hal ( Sparks ) !

Elizabeth I And Studio 60.

I felt like bumming around yesterday so I decided to watch TV . I stumbled upon an excellent HBO produced TV movie called Elizabeth I . As usual for an HBO produced film , it was well acted especially with Jeremy Irons on it .That's what I find interesting in period movies like this , such a wealth of material .
Later in the evening , my wife sked me to watch with her the much anticipated series - Studio 60 . It did not dissapoint . I was enthralled all showing long . It's kind of interesting to watch behind the scenes happenings in movie and TV world. Like some years ago , the account of how Jay Leno and Dave Letterman duke it out for the right to hosts the Tonight Show. Very intriguing . And intrigues are always fascinating !

Yes, I Will Get My Sattelite Finally

A bit of good news came my way this week . My satellite TV will soon be running . After a long wait , they will install the antenna and everything will be running . I am readying my bid screen TV for this event .I planned to be as comfy in this new location for my recreation room .This Saturday , I will put tiles on part of our basement and position the exercise equiptments facing the big screen TV and beside my office desk . How cool is that ?

The Skirt Was Too Short

I watched the 2nd showing of Celebrity Duets and the result was surprising indeed . Caroline In The City got voted out to the dismay of her daughters who were in the audience that day . I guess the voting audience did not like her ' Tina Turney like mini skirt ' . Don't get me wrong . She's got good legs but it's a turn off for a lady her age . The show have cool guest singers again this time led by Brian Mc Knight who sang the 1-2-3 song with Jai . Not bad . No. it's actually entertaining . Then there was Kenny Loggins too . Wonder what happened to his partner , Messina ? I look forward to more cool guests next week.

My New Fav - Celebrity Duets

Today being Thursday is the day for Celebrity Duets . It's Simon's new production where celebs get to sing with real singers like Michael Bolton , Gladys Knight and many others. The good thing about this show is that it features actual celebs unlike Dancing With The Stars which all you've got are unknowns or has beens . I am not saying the celebs are in the stature of a Tom Cruise but they are more famous and more recent stars than the ' stars ' in Dancing although I heard the latest Dancing will have Jerry Seinfeld in it . I look forward to tonights show . The celebs that can ' actually ' sing are Jai Rodriguez of ' Queer Eye...' and that Will Smith's sidekick in ' Fresh Prince...' . There are no 'Simon type ' among the 3 judges which include Marie Osmond . I guess the Producers have to be careful not to bruise the egos of the celebs .

What a series ! This Entourage is really enjoyable . I watched all of the episodes of season 3 in one day . One Sunday , all episodes of Entourage was shown from morning until 10 PM non stop and I watched them all . It hurts my back and eyes from too much strain .
The series was realy enjoyable like a combination of Sex In The City and Friends . The male version of Sex.. A lot of male adventures involving sexual explois which are really funny . I especially like 'Ari' . He's really funny and 'convincing as a movie 'Agent' .I will surely watch season 4 of Entourage !

An acquiantance keep talking about buying a plasma TV that is HD. He said he saw some of these new TVs at some shops. I think he was referring to Best Buy . ' It's really something . You can stand this near and you would see all marks on the stars' faces ' he said. Well , I'm not crazy about marks in one's face . It reminds me of what Jay Leno said when he learned that veteran newscaster Dan Rather will do the newcast and the like for Mark Cuban's HD Net . ' My God . The people will see how all the pokes and marks in Dan's face . Now , they will really say he's old ' joked the comedian . The price of a LG 50 inch plasma is $ 3500 . Not bad . I don't know if I will buy one yet ! Maybe if I have the sattelite hooked up .

Kate In Tonight Show

I watched Kate Hudson last night being interviewed by Jay Leno in the latter's show . Wow ! She was wearing a revealing dress but nothing vulgar . It's true that Kate is the new Meg Ryan . She's a sweetheart . Actually , Jennifer Aniston and maybe ? Lindsay Lohan are viewing for the title. You know , the princess of romantic comedies . I think she is of the right age . Aniston is a little bit old while Lohan is wild !

She was truly at home during the interview . Both she and Jay were laughing upon completion of every sentence . This episode was a replay so the news of the break up with her husband was not yet in the news.Whether she knows what was about to happen , I cannot tell. Something was evident though . David Chase , A Genius

For the past months now , TLN has been showing re runs of Soprano . I love this show especially Gandolfini as Tony Soprano or Mr. T . The series is supposed to be down to its last 4 or 6 episodes which the crew are set to film soon. I heard that Gandolfini was injured so the filming got delayed . Maybe from eating too much . In just about episode , Tony was shown eating something .I won't be surprise if he has jaw or weight problem.

The showing is at 11 PM so it's quite late in the day when it finish. Before , we watch Soprano from a videotape that my wife's friend taped for us .She's got HBO .I just want to have my satellite soon so I can catch up. Actually , I've seen Soprano I , II , III from DVD I borrowed from the Library .These discs are good because these contain the Producer's insights. David Chase has some interesting views .

The Aura Of James Dean

Great TV the other night . It was about James Dean . I remember the boys during that time was copying the style of JD . Leather jacket , brushed up hair or pompadour is it ? Really cool stuff .
I watched all his films like Giants , East Of Eden and of course The Rebel Without A Cause .
I wonder if he did not die young , would he be as big as he is now ?
He was an advocate of method acting . Like Robert De Niro and other great stars . I like that . De Niro in Raging Bull even added weight to get more into the role. I want to be an actor . I found that inner wish too late. Now, if I pursue that wish , I'll be doing mature roles . Not too many of those . Who wants a middle age James Dean ?

Conan O Brien

My satellite is almost fixed . Soon I will be able to watch all my favorite TV shows . Lately , I am not watching too much. In fact , I missed the late night talk shows of Jay , Dave , Jimmy and Conan Conan can be a very funny guy . He's supposed to be Jay's replacement after Mr. Leno steps down. I think he has about 4 years left on his contract. That will be something . His brand of humor is different from Jay. Conan used to write for SNL so the young people can identify with his jokes. I like the portion of his show when Conan combines the features of 2 celebrities to predict how their baby will look like. That's a riot all the time !

Desperate Shows

I heard on the radio that the show , The One , registered a dismal rating for its initial show. In fact , it is said rating was the lowest for any ABC show ever . What say you ? The reality show was terrible . Let's see if it will pick up in the next few weeks.
Also in ' desperate ' position is Desperate Housewives. Not really. It dlipped in ratings. I remember the time that me and the wife will hurry up to finish what we are doing so that we can watch the show Sunday night. It was so hot then , the show's stars were everywhere. In mags , talk shows and other events . The writer , Cherry , announced that this season would have a hostage situ in a supermarket. One of the housewive is supposed to die . Who is it ? You're guess is as good as mine.

Me and my wife watched this show last night . I would say, we totally enjoyed it. I don't usually enjoy such shows but last night was different . The wife guessed correctly the top 5 positions . Miss Japan is really pretty . Too bad she lost. Miss Puerto Rico won. Isn't Puerto Rico one of the countries where beauty contest is a cottage industry ? The other one I think in Venezuela. These 2 places start them young and train their young women how to be a beauty queen . Plastic surgery included. Donald Trump , the pageant chairman , has another prospect . A future Mrs. Trump no.? I lost count of how many wives Trump has.xx

The shows last night were terrific. First , I watched ' Tootsie ' wth Dustin Hoffman . It was an old film but what a movie . I enjoyed the theme song a lot. I intend to download it. ' It Must Be You ' is a nice song. But if you like a movie with a lot of great songs , the next movie was full of memorable music. It's ' My Best Friend's Wedding ' . It's a Julia Roberts starrer . I remember that movie very well. First time that I saw Justin Timberlake's GF. The sounds was something else. It took a long time before I erased the music from my mind especially that ' You Don't Know Me ' version by Tony Bennett. For a long time , I was so in love. Ha , to be in love again .

I watched this ABC Reality Show cum Talent Show last night and was completely dissapointed . It 's supposed to steal some of Amercan Idol's glory . Sorry but the contestants of AI are much more pure. The producers of this show surely know that part of AI 's appeal is the auditions complete with goofy wanna bes. Then the choosing of the top 10. By this time , you 'kinda developed some affinity with the idol hopefuls. ABC's show formula is straight to the 10 contestants . It not right , I think. Can the show !

One of the most satisfying way of watching TV movies is watching the story presented in facts normally a documentary , followed by the movie version. I remember watching The Gangs Of New York with Leonardo DiCaprio this way. The documentary about the Real Gangs Of New York was shown complete with discussions . The people tackled the parts of the movie ' which are embellished or subjected to artistic freedom ' . After that , I borrowed a book on the same subject. My knowledge about the Gangs is complete .

Bravo Channel

This channel shows some good indy films . Of course , the old films are their forte . Before they coined the world indy films , what do the industry people call it ? Independent films I guess. Indy for short . Some of the best films I've seen this year are foreign films . It can be trying at times reading those sub titles but some foreign films shown on TV are brilliant . Of course , when seen on regular TV , the sub titles are a lot smaller . That's when the big screen tv helps .My only problem is that , you have to be attentive all the time . You cannot close your eyes at length or you'll lose the story . That's why I don't watch films w/ subtitles when I feel sleepy .

Still no sat service. I just satisfy myself by watching cable. Of course the pick is limited to regular networks offerings. It's good a lot of things are happening in the world . Sometimes BBC gives the best perspective of the news . CNN tells the news with the American slant . It's just my opinion. An office trainee of ours who is from Dubai told me so. Hate to admit it guys , he's right. We have our own Al Jazzera here !

It's a Toshiba 60 inch TV . I bought it some 4 years ago at a discount because it's a display item. I love this TV . Especially when I am watching a movie with my family . I like the feel of the cinemahouse . One time , I planned to transfer this to the basement and build a mini theater complete with chairs and sound system . Some other time .
